The problem

Fragrance is the last thing we still buy blind.

The blind buy
  • A 30-second sniff on a paper strip, surrounded by 40 other bottles
  • A salesperson's favourite, not yours
  • €120 spent on a scent that turns sour on your skin by lunch
  • No idea the same bottle was €41 cheaper two streets away
The Fragnoir buy
  • The full notes pyramid — top, heart, base — before you commit
  • Ratings and reviews from people who wore it for months
  • Accords that tell you how it actually behaves on skin
  • Every retailer's price in one table, best deal first
What's inside

Everything the bottle doesn't tell you.

Pyramid

Every note, in order

Top, heart and base notes for every fragrance — what you smell first, what stays for hours.

Accords

How it behaves

Woody? Powdery? Sweet? Accord strengths show a scent's character at a glance.

Community

Ratings you can trust

Real wearers rate longevity, sillage and how it lives on skin — moderated, never sponsored.

Same bottle. €16 apart.

Fragrance pricing is wildly inconsistent between retailers. Fragnoir puts every price we track in one table, best deal first — one tap takes you to the shop.

When you buy through Fragnoir we may earn a commission from the retailer. It never affects the price you pay, and never affects ranking — the cheapest price is always first.

How it works

Four steps between you and never blind-buying again.

  1. 01

    Scan the barcode

In a shop, at a friend's place, in a hotel bathroom — point the camera at any EAN barcode. No typing.

  2. 02

    Read the profile

Notes pyramid, accords, perfumer, longevity and sillage ratings from people who wore it for months.

  3. 03

    Compare every price

One table, every retailer we track, best deal first. The €40 gap between shops stops being a secret.

  4. 04

    Buy smart

Tap out to the retailer you choose — or shelve it on your wishlist and wait for a price drop.

From the beta community

Built with people who take scent seriously.

I finally have my whole collection in one place — and the wardrobe told me I own four ambers that smell nearly identical. Saved me from buying a fifth.

What it costs

Free. Forever. Here's how that works.

What we never charge for

Scanning, reading, rating, shelving. The core of Fragnoir will never sit behind a paywall — a fragrance database you can't open in the shop is useless.

How we stay free

When you buy through a link on Fragnoir, the retailer pays us a small commission. Same price for you, always labeled, and it never touches ratings or ranking.

Trust

Honest about scent. Honest about everything else.

Private by design

Minimal data, no ad tracking, full export and deletion from day one. Your scans are yours.

No card, no trial, no trap

There is nothing to cancel because there is nothing to subscribe to.

Moderated community

Every review passes automated and human moderation before it's published. No astroturf.

Affiliate links, labeled

Commissions never change a price or a ranking — and they're always disclosed.

Questions

Asked often, answered honestly.

Is Fragnoir really free?

Yes — every feature, forever. Fragnoir earns a commission from retailers when you buy through our links, at no extra cost to you. That single revenue stream keeps the app free and is always disclosed.

How do affiliate links work?

When you tap "Visit shop", we send you to the retailer with a tracking reference. If you buy, the retailer pays us a small percentage. Your price is identical either way, and commissions never influence which shop appears first — the price table is always sorted cheapest-first.

Which barcodes can I scan?

Standard EAN-13 and UPC barcodes — the codes printed on virtually every fragrance box sold in Europe and North America. If we don't recognise a barcode yet, you can submit it and we'll add the fragrance to the index.

Where does the fragrance data come from?

A blend of open product databases, public reference data, and our community — note votes, accord ratings and reviews from real wearers. Every source is credited and community data is moderated.

What do you do with my data?

As little as possible: no ad tracking, analytics only if you opt in, and full data export and account deletion built in. See the privacy policy for the complete picture.

When does the app launch?

The iOS and Android apps are in development now. The "Get the app" button will light up the moment they reach the stores — until then it leads to a page where you can check back.
